About

Multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger, composer, lyricist and songwriter Akshay Gaikwad has lived and breathed music since the age of 6, when a childhood curiosity for the piano first opened the door to a lifelong creative journey. Shaped by the rich musical culture of his church, he spent his early years performing live, learning to move audiences not just with notes, but with emotion and intention.

By 13, Akshay had picked up the guitar and begun expanding his sonic palette, soon diving into the world of home recording and production at 15, long before it was commonplace. That early experimentation laid the foundation for a deep understanding of both the art and the science of sound.

At 18, he stepped onto the stage as part of his first alternative rock band, What Plough?, and has since performed at an array of venues with that project and several other acts, honing his versatility across styles, spaces and sounds. With over 12 years of experience as a producer and more than 25 years as a dedicated musician, Akshay now brings a rare combination of musical intuition and structured, thoughtful process to every project.

Today, he works closely with artists to shape and elevate their ideas, bridging the gap between raw inspiration and polished record. Whether it is crafting intricate arrangements, sculpting tones in the studio, or guiding songs from first demo to final master, his goal is simple: to help artists hear their true creative vision fully realised.
